Objectives

 

 

(a) To contribute to the religious, spiritual educational and cultural development of the Sikh in New Zealand.

 

(b) To liaise and co-operate with other Sikh Societies in New Zealand, SGPC Amritsar(India) and� in other parts of the world to promote the Sikh faith.

 

(c) To provide and establish a link between the New Zealand Sikh Societies and other
religious Sikh Societies throughout the world so that information on common interest may be exchanged.


(d) To provide Health and Counseling advice at free of cost.


(e) To carry out the objects of the Trust according to principles as set out in the Sikh
Rehat Maryada of the Sri Akal Takhat Sahib, Amritsar (lndia), namely


(i) To establish and maintain Gurdwara Sahibs (Sikh Temples).


(ii) To conduct religious ceremonies for the followers of Sikhisrn.


(iii) To promote and foster a better understanding amongst the people of New Zealand for
the Sikh religion.


(iv) To arrange from time to time Parcharks {missionaries) to deliver discourses in Gurbani. Sikh history and Sikh traditions.


(v) To arrange Amrit Sanchar - the -Sikh Baptisrn.


(vi) To give assistance to the poor and needy.


(vii) To do all such things as are incidental or conducive to the attainment of the above
objectives.
